Pohjola Pankki Oyj: OP Financial Group's scientific foundations award grants worth 1,177,050 euros

The scholarship foundations established by OP Financial Group to support
scientific research awarded a total of 1,177,050 euros in research grants.
The OP-Pohjola Group Research Foundation, which was established in 1972,
supports economic research, especially research into financing and
cooperative banking. It is one of the largest foundations in Finland that
support economic research.

The Kyösti Haataja Foundation established in 1951 supports research into
financial, social and judicial conditions in rural areas, especially among
farmers.
- During the last five years, OP Financial Group's foundations have supported
economic research with over six million euros. Thus, the foundations play a
significant role as a supporter of postgraduate studies in economics in
particular. This year too we received a large number of applications with
highly ambitious research subjects, saysJaakko Pehkonen,
Chairman of the Board of the foundations.
