Production remains strong and stable in August

[Stockholm, 9 September 2020] – Series production remained strong and stable in August, reaching 2.7 million Engine Equivalents for the second consecutive month. Together, the July and August production provide a solid start to the third quarter, running at approximately 80% of the volume during the same period in 2019. Compared to the annualised production of 1.6 million Engine Equivalents in the second quarter of 2020, the run-rate in July and August represents an increase of approximately 70%.

“The series production is starting to show welcome signs of stability while the installation outlook for the second half of the year remains positive. The System 4000 Plus installation at the First Automobile Works foundry is ongoing and the System 4000 Plus installation at the Scania foundry in Sweden is on schedule to start later this month. Together with the System 4000 sale at the WHB foundry in Brazil in May – and other capacity and functionality upgrades that have been secured – we are confident to post a second consecutive year of record installation revenue” said Dr Steve Dawson, President & CEO. “We are encouraged by the strength of the recovery and we maintain our confidence in returning to pre-corona production levels and in our long term growth potential. We also maintain our intention to share the financial results of 2019 with our shareholders at an Extraordinary General Meeting to be convened on or before 20 November.”
